Nevada Northern Railway has restored the century old Alco 2-8-0 #93 . The Consolidation class begins photo freight runs in January. Weekend passenger runs as well as locomotive rentals begin in April.

Celebrate America’s Largest Railroading Event of 2009
Owosso, Michigan
July 24-26, TrainFestival 2009.
Expected to be one of this years premier railroading events, TrainFestival 2009 will take place in Owosso, Michigan. There will be Steam and Diesel Locomotives from around the country on display for visitors to tour the cabs, take photos, watch demonstrations and much more. Huge model train layouts will be on display including a massive all-Lego model train. Scheduled steam engine runs are the Nickel Plate Road #765 to run a day long excursion on Sunday July 26. The Pere Marquette #1225 is also scheduled to run on Saturday, July 25.
Attendance of 30,000+ visitors is expected for the three day festival.

ATSF 4-6-2 #3415 Returns to Operation.
The Abiline and Smokey Valley RR of Abiline, KS has returned ATSF 4-6-2 #3415 to operation.
The 1919 ATSF#3415 Baldwin Pacific made it’s first move under it’s won power for the first time in over 50 years on December 2, 2008. After completeing FRA inspection, #3415 made a short run from the engine house to the 1887 Rock Island Depot.
#3415 is believed to have operated over the Santa Fe system between Kansas City Argentine yards and LaJunta, Colorado before retiring.
